ORANGE, Ohio -- Stephen Byron, who has been the village’s law director since 2000, is expected to be reappointed to that position for another year .

The reappointment is expected to happen at Village Council’s first meeting of next year, Jan. 7.

On Wednesday (Dec. 3), an ordinance was introduced to council authorizing the mayor to enter into an agreement with Byron and his Beachwood-based law firm, Singerman, Mills, Desberg & Kauntz Co., for legal services from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2026.

It also confirms the appointment of Byron as law director.

Council typically votes on ordinances on third reading, unless the administration requests suspension of the rules.
