FAYETTEVILLE -- Ryan Silverfield is not lacking for confidence or charisma.

Silverfield, who was hired as the University of Arkansas' head football coach on Sunday, displayed both at his introductory news conference on Thursday with UA Athletic Director Hunter Yurachek.

"We understand that this is the best conference in college football," Silverfield said when asked about his excitement level for coaching in the SEC. "The excitement of not just coaching in the SEC, but coaching at the University of Arkansas, a place that I believe is going to set the standard in this conference, OK.

"And that may take a little bit of time, but we are going to be the standard of what an SEC football program will look like."
