Students in the Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) region have shown signs of improvement over the last few years, but are still producing results below the provincial average in almost every category of provincial testing.

In comparison, the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE), the board that runs Académie catholique Ange-Gabriel in Brockville, posted results higher than the provincial average in every category of testing measured by the province’s Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO).

EQAO results from the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario were not immediately available.

In Grade 3 reading, 71 per cent of UCDSB students met or exceeded provincial standards, while the provincial average is at 75 per cent.
