MANHATTAN — It's official. Collin Klein is the next head football coach of his alma mater, Kansas State .

The university announced on Thursday, Dec. 4, saying Klein would return to lead the Wildcats.

He will be introduced to the public on Friday in a welcome event at Morgan Family Arena , with doors opening at 3 p.m. and a ceremony beginning at 4 p.m. It will be streamed live on ESPN+.

Klein replaces Chris Klieman, who retired after seven seasons as coach.

Klein returns to Manhattan after two years as an offensive coordinator at Texas A&M .

Minimal details were immediately made available regarding Klein's contract. The Capital-Journal will work to obtain his full contract.
