CANTON, Ohio — As hard as it is to reach the mountaintop, some say it's even harder to stay there.
It certainly didn't feel that difficult for the Avon Eagles Thursday night, though Mike Elder would probably be the first to tell you otherwise.
The Eagles capped off a dominant season and playoff run by defeating Anderson 37-20 to win their second consecutive Ohio High School Athletic Association state football championship in Division II. It marked the second straight time Avon had beaten the Raptors in the title game, though unlike last year's snowy nailbiter , this one never seemed to be in doubt.
