MOSES LAKE, Wash. — Students in the Moses Lake School District will remain out of class until at least Monday after negotiations between the district and teachers' union failed once again.
The Moses Lake Education Association held a rally outside Frontier Middle School, where hundreds of teachers and staff gathered during the ongoing strike.
Teachers are demanding fair compensation and opposing proposed benefit takebacks.
"We want to be back in the classroom, we miss our kids. We want a fair contract and we don't want any takebacks. We're done," said Liz Pray, a school nurse with Moses Lake School District.
"We would rather be in the classrooms, doing what we're supposed to be doing. Right now, we're just asking for the district to think about the kids," said fourth-grade teacher Preli
