ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — It’s that time of the year when packages delivered to homes are being snatched more and more often.

Porch pirates seem to be everywhere in Atlanta, with more and more videos of the crimes surfacing every day.

“We’re all working hard during already a tough time. We’re all spending our own money just trying to, you know, have a good time with family. These are already crazy times, and you have crazy people stealing your stuff. It just kind of gets worse,” said Atlanta resident Lezlie Jones.

In 2024, Atlanta was ranked sixth nationally for the number of packages being stolen on a daily basis, with over $154M worth of packages being stolen in one calendar year.
