CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Yee-haw! It's time for a hoedown, or at least a basketball game, as #14 Illinois takes on #13 Tennessee in Nashville.

Illinois returns to the court after an eight-day break, and a 74-61 loss to #5 UConn at Madison Square Garden. Both of the Illini's losses this year have come on neutral sites, with the first coming to #11 Alabama at the United Center. According to Illinois Athletics , Tennessee is the last of four top-15 ranked nonconference opponents in a seven-game span before the Fighting Illini start Big Ten play.

Illinois and Tennessee last faced off in December 2024, when the Volunteers handed the Illini a buzzer-beating 66-64 loss in Champaign.
