SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - One social media post has people in Springfield raising their eyebrows.
The post, shared across the Capitol City Wednesday night, stated that nine firefighters were injured and taken to the hospital. Springfield fire said: Not so fast.
"There were no injuries to any of our firefighters last night. No one was transported," said Springfield Assistant Fire Chief Julie Plunk
Even though there were several fires Wednesday night, none of them resulted in injuries to first responders. An AI software shared two separate emergencies as one incident. According to Plunk, Springfield Fire was transporting a patient to the hospital for a medical emergency.
