Bengaluru: A middle-aged man died after allegedly falling onto the tracks at the Kengeri metro station in western Bengaluru on Friday morning, officials said.
Trains on the Purple Line are currently operating only up to Mysuru Road, with services being suspended between Mysuru Road and Challaghatta, according to Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited.
Around 8.15 am, the man jumped onto the track moments before an approaching train. Alert security personnel immediately cut off the power supply to the third rail, but the victim was found trapped between the track and the train.
With the train movement halted, hundreds of commuters were forced to wait at the station entrance for more than an hour. Metro staff later informed them that services would remain suspended for a few hours, prom
