Bengaluru: Bengaluru Metro services on the Purple Line were partially disrupted on Friday after a man died by jumping onto the tracks in front of an approaching train at Kengeri Metro Station.
The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Shantagoud Police Patil, a native of Devarahipparagi in Vijayapura district. According to officials, he jumped onto the track as the train arrived at the platform.
Kengeri police immediately reached the spot, recovered the body from beneath the train, and shifted it to a hospital for further procedures. Train operations were suspended for a brief period between Mysuru Road (Nayandanahalli) and Challaghatta stations, leading to delays for commuters.
