The Election Commission has informed the Supreme Court that 99.83% of the forms have been distributed. Out of these, 93.27% have been digitized.
The ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Gujarat has revealed that the state’s voter list still includes over 17 lakh deceased voters, according to a statement by the Chief Electoral Officer.
Over the last month, forms were distributed to more than 50 million registered voters, with 33 districts completing 100% of the work. The digitisation of returned forms is currently underway.
During the revision, officials found over 6.14 lakh voters missing from their addresses and more than 30 lakh voters had permanently left the state. Additionally, 3.25 lakh voters were found in duplicate entries.
