The Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in India on Thursday to attend the 23rd India-Russia Summit. This is Putin's first visit to India in 4 years. To receive him, PM Modi broke protocol and went to Palam Airport himself.

Modi welcomed Putin on the red carpet with a hug at the airport. After this, both leaders reached the PM's residence in the same car, where a private dinner was hosted in honor of the Russian President.

Modi presented Putin with a copy of the Gita written in Russian. Modi wrote on X, "Happy to welcome friend Putin. This morning at 11 am, Putin will be formally welcomed with state honors."
