The Amarillo Area Foundation announced on Dec. 3 that The Panhandle Gives campaign raised $10,951,979 during its nine-day giving drive, continuing a strong tradition of regional generosity even without the transformational gifts seen in past years.

President and CEO Keralee Clay said the total may shift slightly as final reconciliations are completed, but the number reflects the foundation’s accounting to date.

Clay noted that unlike last year — when a $2 million single gift boosted the total dramatically — this year’s results were powered by a wider base of community support. The largest gift was $500,000, and only one donation reached that level.
