NBC is bringing back one of the most beloved Christmas classics: “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” The 1966 animated special, based on Dr. Seuss’ timeless tale, airs tonight, Dec. 4, at 8 p.m. Eastern on NBC, with an encore presentation on Christmas Day at 8 p.m. Eastern.

This short but heartwarming story follows the Grinch, a grouchy green creature who tries to steal Christmas from Whoville, only to discover the true meaning of the holiday. Narrated by Boris Karloff and featuring the iconic song “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” this special has been a holiday staple for nearly six decades.
