DETROIT -- Brian Branch was carted off the field late in the fourth quarter of the Detroit Lions 44-30 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night.
The safety was spotted in a walking boot on crutches after the game. Branch’s ankle appeared to get rolled under the body of Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson while trying to make a play in the end zone during the fourth quarter.
He struggled while trying to get to his feet, and wasn’t able to put much weight with trainers at his side. After getting to the sideline, Branch was carted to the back as the Lions sealed their victory against the Cowboys.
Branch finished with six tackles, one fumble recovery, one quarterback hit and broke up one pass, too.
“I don’t know,” Lions coach Dan Campbell said after the game. “I’ll know more tomorrow.”
