BBC Breakfast was halted for tragic death news on Friday (December 5) as a guest sobbed, "He was a broken man".

During this morning's programme, Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt relayed the heartbreaking tale of former sub postmaster Jonathan Armstrong, who attempted to end his own life following the Post Office Horizon IT scandal.

"The lives of thousands of sub postmasters were destroyed by the Post Office Horizon IT scandal . Among them was Jonathan Armstrong. Despite being innocent, he never spoke publicly about his ordeal, which culminated in him trying to take his own life," Charlie began.
