THE Scottish Greens have hit a “historic high” in membership as support for the party has soared this year.
The party said that more than 1800 people have joined since April, bringing their total membership to a record high of 9235.
Announcing the milestone, the party’s Co-leader, Gillian Mackay, said that she is “grateful to everyone who has joined” and that the party has grown along with its branches in “every part of Scotland”.
“More and more people are joining the Scottish Greens because they share our vision for a fairer, greener and independent Scotland that puts people before profit,” she said.
