The Monroe County Airport has acquired large snowplows from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, which airport officials say has cut snow-clearing time and boosted aviation safety.
Airport Director Carlos Laverty said that as major airport clients Cook Aviation and IU Athletics covered much of the $60,000 to transport the equipment to Monroe County, the airport spent only a few thousand dollars to become among the best equipped airports in the state.
