EVANSVILLE — Developers of the old Welborn Clinic building in Downtown Evansville say they got a surprise email and little else when EVSC backed out of a $1.27 million deal to buy the vacant structure.
EVSC notified Evansville HealthRealty IV LLC on Nov. 26 that it would exercise its right under a purchase agreement to terminate the deal struck in February 2024 before the Dec. 1 deadline to do so, according to company managing partner Jim Cross. The notice came two days after the school board voted unanimously to approve Superintendent Darla Hoover's recommendation to pull the plug.
