Meghan Markle has been encouraged to fly to the Philippines to see her dad amid his latest health battle . The 81-year-old had to undergo life-saving surgery during which his leg was amputated, it has been claimed.
It was reported earlier this week that he had been rushed to hospital after falling seriously ill at his home in the Philippines. He then underwent a three-hour operation on Wednesday to remove his left foot and lower leg after a circulation issue turned the limb blue and black.
Giving recent updates on his dad's condition, his son Thomas Markle Jr recently said: "It happened very quickly. I took him to a local hospital, and they did some scans and an ultrasound and said the leg had to be amputated."
