Russell Domingo , the former South Africa and Bangladesh coach, has been named Hampshire men's head coach on a two-year contract. He will be joined in the club's new coaching set-up by another South African, Shane Burger , who previously coached Scotland before moving on to Somerset.
Domingo was in charge of South Africa between 2012 and 2017, followed by a three-year stint with Bangladesh. He has been head coach of Johannesburg-based Lions since 2023, and has also worked in the PSL, taking the reigns at Lahore Qalandars earlier this year.
He succeeds his countryman Adrian Birrell, who stepped down at the end of the 2025 summer after seven seasons on the south coast.
