Count me among the large number of people, and probably a lot of readers, who would say that Christmas is their favorite time of year.
Furthermore, I count myself among those with a keen kinship to English author G.K. Chesterton, who candidly admitted to being more silly about Christmas at an advanced age than when a child.
"Most sensible people say that adults cannot be expected to appreciate Christmas as much as children appreciate it," he wrote. "But I am not sure that even sensible people are always right; and this has been my principal reason for deciding to be silly--a decision that is now irrevocable."
Like G.K., I'm silly about Christmas, and irrevocably so.
