LAFAYETTE, Ind.(WLFI) - Wea Ridge middle schoolers are making a difference in Lafayette right from the classroom.
The club 'Bring Change 2 Mind' at Wea Ridge is made up of 6th through 8th graders. The club focuses on mental health among students.
Thursday morning, the group packed lunches for the Lafayette Urban Ministry warming center.
"They got here almost an hour before school starts because this is really important to them. And they're just a great community to work with," said Wea Ridge school counselor Erin Peabody.
Eighth grader Mace Munoz says the club has been a big part of her middle school experience. Munoz was just one of over 20 students decorating bags, making sandwiches and packing the rest of the meals together.
