NEW DELHI: India's largest airline, IndiGo , continued to face a major operational breakdown on Friday as pilot-rostering issues escalated into massive flight cancellations for the fourth straight day. More than 500 flights were cancelled or delayed, leaving thousands of passengers stranded across airports nationwide. The crisis, largely triggered by an unexpected pilot shortage under new duty-time rules, has forced the airline into emergency schedule cuts and triggered a regulatory intervention. Airports reported chaotic scenes, with passengers waiting over 12 to 24 hours, organising protests, and complaining about a lack of communication and even misplaced baggage. Some said they had boarded their aircraft only to be asked to deboard later when flights were abruptly cancelled.
