“I was afraid to be alone 'cause I didn't want that pain to hit again” Tammi McAfee recalls her thoughts after emergency surgery. “And then my brain to start going off and think, ‘oh, you're gonna have to go through this all over again. It's gonna hit you again. It's just gonna happen again’.” Tammi was trying not to live in fear, however a recent diagnosis of diverticulitis -- infected pockets in the colon that can cause severe pain -- was bringing back terrible memories.
