Try to imagine this scene: A police officer in Yourtown, USA, observes a drug transaction going down. Instead of arresting, investigating, charging, possibly convicting and sentencing (not a death sentence) the suspected dealer, he takes a convenient shortcut and shoots and kills the suspect on the spot. After all, the suspect was probably part of the cartels that were killing thousands of Americans with their lethal drugs. That police officer would probably be convicted of murder in a fair court trial.
