A dinner is being held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday night in honor of Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to media reports, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge have not been invited. However, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has been invited.

When PTI asked Tharoor about Rahul-Kharge not receiving an invitation, he said, "I don't know on what basis invitations are given, but I will definitely attend the event. However, not inviting opposition leaders is not right."
