EXCLUSIVE : Talkhouse , the company behind series such as How Long Gone, Jokermen and SubwayTakes , has a new head of podcasts.

The company has hired Laura Mayer to the position. Mayer was formerly Executive Producer of Podcast Programming at ABC News.

Talkhouse, which is also behind series including Alison Roman’s Solicited Advice, That’s How I Remember It with Craig Finn, This Is TASTE, and Life of the Record, has found recent success with Fela Kuti: Fear No Man, the Jad Abumrad-helmed series, which Talkhouse produced for Higher Ground. It reached number two on Apple’s Top Series charts and was named the best podcast of 2025 by The New Yorker.
