FARGO — Morgyn Haugen never expected her college town to offer her a chance to build a career, friendships and a sense of home.

Haugen left her hometown of Mankato to attend Concordia College in Moorhead where she studied pre-med biology and first connected with Sanford.

Her early experiences with Sanford during college gave her a clear sense of the organization’s culture and the professional development opportunities available to nurses who want to grow in their careers.

Haugen, now a Cobber alum, has continued her clinical career in the area by becoming a registered nurse, clinical care leader and department education coordinator at Sanford Health in Fargo.

Haugen says North Dakota has given her more than a career — it’s given her a place to belong.
