2JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ – A teenage girl from Jackson remains in critical condition after she was struck by a school bus while riding an electric bicycle Sunday morning.
The collision happened at the intersection of County Line Road and Hope Chapel Road, authorities said.
Emergency responders from Lakewood rushed to the scene and provided aid to the girl before she was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with a severe head injury. The bus was traveling westbound from Lakewood when the crash occurred.
There are no sidewalks on that part of the roadway with a narrow shoulder.
Police have identified the victim only as “Angie,” describing her as a local teenager who was riding a small electric scooter or e-bike when she was hit.
