WACO, Texas — A 57-year-old man is dead following a two-vehicle crash in Waco, the Waco Police Department has announced.

Police said the crash happened around 7:51 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 5 in the area of Kendall Lane and Loop 340.

When officers arrived, they reportedly learned that a cement truck was traveling north on Loop 340 as a Nissan Altima was traveling south, and the two vehicles crashed head-on.

Police said the driver of the Nissan, identified as a 57-year-old man, died on the scene. Next of kin has reportedly been notified. The man's identity has not been released at this time.

The driver of the cement truck was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay, according to police.

Police said the crash is currently under investigation.
