VIRGINIA — A GRAND JURY in Norfolk, Virginia on Thursday rejected the Trump Justice Department’s efforts to charge New York Attorney General Letitia James with mortgage fraud, refusing to indict her after a previous indictment was dismissed just a week ago, according to the Washington Post. A source told the Post that the Justice Department may still try a third time. Career prosecutors, however, told the news outlet that the case appeared to be weak.
James, who successfully prosecuted Trump in a civil fraud case, is one of several political foes the Trump administration has ordered Attorney General Pam Bondi to prosecute, including former FBI director James B. Comey, Sen. Adam Schiff (D-California) and Federal Reserve governor Lisa Cook.
