The All India Digital Cable Federation (AIDCF) , representing major cable TV operators across the country, has cautioned the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) that key elements of the draft amendments to India’s television rating guidelines could weaken measurement quality and destabilise cable-sector economics.
In a detailed submission the AIDCF sent to the ministry, and accessed by Mediabrief.com, the body said proposals to drop landing-page impressions from TRP calculations and to formally recognise connected-TV viewing require reconsideration.
AIDCF supported several parts of the draft, including updated conflict-of-interest norms and revised financial criteria for rating agencies, but said some of the structural changes risk creating inconsistencies in how audiences are
