Several Michigan football recruits were honored Friday for having banner 2025 seasons.
Five were named Gatorade Player of the Year in their respective states/regions, including four in the 2026 class who signed this week during the early signing window: Five-star running back Savion Hiter (Virginia), four-star offensive tackle Malakai Lee (Hawaii), four-star tight end Matt Ludwig (Montana) and three-star edge Tariq Boney (Washington D.C.).
Peter Bourque, a four-star quarterback commit in the 2027 class, also was named POY in Massachusetts. The No. 85 overall prospect nationally, per the 247Sports Composite, passed for 2,241 yards and 18 touchdowns during his junior season, leading Marion Tabor Academy to a 9-0 campaign. He also rushed for 688 yards and 15 scores on 80 carries.
