A one-time Lebanon City Council candidate and daughter of a Lebanon magistrate judge has entered a diversionary court program to resolve allegations she assaulted someone in a local grocery store last summer , according to court documents.
It’s unclear if this resolution in Zaelys De’Arce’s case will allow her mother, Aurelis Figueroa, to continue hearing criminal cases.
Figueroa was prohibited by a Feb. 13 court order from hearing all criminal cases following a recommendation by the out-of-county judge hearing De’Arce’s case.
De’Arce, 23, will be required to undergo diversionary court programming for 18 months.
She will have to complete 30 hours of community service, take anger management classes and pay $50 for each month she’s in the diversionary program.
