The 2026 World Cup draw is almost underway with England and Scotland anxiously awaiting who shall be their opponents at next summer's major tournament

The World Cup draw is almost upon us as England and Scotland await their group stage fate. The official draw is set to take place on Friday evening in Washington, kicking off at 5pm UK time.

A total of 64 teams will enter the draw, which includes the potential play-off victors, with 12 groups of four teams set to be decided. The number will whittle down to an official 48 once March's play-off round concludes , with plenty of opportunity for other nations to still make it to the World Cup .
