ALEXANDRIA — Habitat for Humanity of Douglas County received a $20,000 Youth Matching Grant from State Farm to mobilize youth leaders to create awareness of affordable housing in Douglas County.

State Farm’s Youth Matching Grant encourages youth groups to partner with their local Habitat affiliate to raise and match funds that support affordable housing, including home construction and repair projects. Affordable housing plays a critical role in building strong and stable communities. Unfortunately, homeownership has become increasingly challenging with record low supply of affordable/entry-level homes and increased cost of living.
