BRIGHTON TWP., Mich. (WILX) - A Mount Pleasant man is in custody after allegedly setting fire to a home in Livingston County in connection with a case of alleged stalking on Thanksgiving weekend.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office says around 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 28, Alex Buley-Neumar, 25, threw multiple Molotov cocktails at a home on Burson Drive in Brighton Township on Nov. 28.

Responding deputies found evidence of incendiary devices in the road and damage to the victim’s property. Alert neighbors were able to quickly extinguish the flames, preventing what officials say “could have been a catastrophic outcome.”

He was arrested in Mount Pleasant less than 24 hours later and remains held on a $1 million cash/surety bond at the Livingston County Jail.
