BRAINERD — In football, the kicker is only remembered when he makes a mistake.
Not the case for Brainerd senior kicker and punter Sawyer Riffle, as he signed his letter of intent to kick for the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks Wednesday, Dec. 3, as part of national signing day.
“It was cool to make it official,” Riffle said. “The coaches were really happy with it. We can get more information from coaches now that I am on the team. I’ll leave to move into Grand Forks on June 7. I’m trying to kick once a week with a coach.”
The recruiting process for a kicker is different. College coaches don’t rely on film as much as they do in camps.
