HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - A Hastings man was sentenced in federal court for distribution of fentanyl.

30-year-old Seth Fontaine was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment.

This stems from an incident in May 2023 when Fontaine sent a message to the victim on Facebook asking if they had Narcan.

The victim said yes, and Fontaine then went to their residence in Hastings where the two smoked fentanyl.

The victim became unconscious and was not breathing. First responders administered Narcan, and the victim received further medical attention at the hospital.

At the scene, law enforcement found pipes with fentanyl residue on them, burnt tin foil and a torch still lit.

After Fontaine’s release, he will begin a five-year term of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
