Gen Z is giving more to charity while the older generations actually pull back, according to a new report from fundraising platform Tiltify.
While Gen Z only holds 6 to 7 percent of all U.S. household wealth , they increased their giving by 67 percent since the pandemic. This means they roughly give the same as much yearly as baby boomers , at between $50 and $249, despite earning far less.
Why It Matters
As Gen Z has just entered the workforce and has had less time to build up their wealth, it might be a surprising fact that they are giving more to charity even while older generations give less.
Experts say this could reveal something about Gen Z itself or their current position despite the larger economic uncertainty.
