The newlyweds’ reception, scheduled to take place in Hubballi on 3 December, had to be attended by the couple via video link from Bhubaneswar. Widespread disruptions to leading carrier IndiGo’s operations, reportedly due to crew shortages, left thousands of passengers stranded across the country.

Not wanting to miss the important occasion entirely, the couple appeared on a large screen at the venue, greeting guests and apologising for not being able to be there in person.
