A New Waterford, N.S., woman has been charged with fraud and theft after police say more than $30,000 went missing from a local hockey organization.
Cape Breton Regional Police said Thursday a 57-year-old woman has been charged after an investigation into the sale of even-split tickets, also known as 50/50 tickets, by the New Waterford Minor Hockey Association.
Police said an audit revealed inconsistencies between the association’s ticket collections and deposits.
