A St. Clair County jury found 24-year-old Wyatt Stimac guilty of first-degree murder Friday, Dec. 5, after less than half an hour of deliberation.
The verdict was read following closing arguments Friday morning. Stimac is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 29 at 8:30 a.m.
That Wyatt Stimac of St. Clair Township fatally shot his father, 56-year-old Shane Stimac, on March 17 was never in dispute. Instead, the attorneys argued over whether he premeditated the murder and should be convicted of first-degree murder or second-degree murder.
