GROTON, CT (WFSB) - Crews responded to a house fire in Groton on Friday morning.
It broke out on St. Joseph Court.
One firefighter suffered minor injuries, firefighters confirmed.
They said no one was inside the home when it started. However, they didn’t know that when they first arrived.
“It came in as a reported person trapped inside,” said Deputy Chief Michael Lowell, Poquonnock Bridge Fire Department. “We had heavy fire in the front door. The guys tried to make entry, but couldn’t because of the fire. So, the engine came in shortly after that and we were able to get in with a hand line.”
Investigators said they’re working to figure out how the fire started.
The American Red Cross is helping the owner.
