Actress Brooke Mueller is taking her ex-husband, Charlie Sheen, to court over claims of unpaid child support.

In documents filed Thursday, Dec. 4, in Los Angeles Superior Court, Mueller, 48, alleged that Sheen owed her nearly $9 million in child support for their twin sons, Bon and Max Sheen. The filing alleges that the unpaid child support goes back to March 2011, and demands that Sheen pay the required support through December 2025.

Sheen, lawyers for Mueller argue, owes an amount "totaling $8,967,600, exclusive of interest, for child support." The filing demands that he pay the amount or respond within 30 days.

Demanding additional funds, lawyers for Mueller claim that Sheen also owes $6,418,643 in interest for the alleged unpaid child support as well as $25,000 for the actress' legal fees.

In her declaration within the filing, Mueller alleges that Sheen "failed to pay the full court-ordered child support amounts" for their 16-year-old twins, claiming that since July 2011, he had ceased paying $55,000 monthly.

Sheen and Mueller were married from 2008 to 2011. Their union was tumultuous, including various custody battles, stints in rehab for both sides of the pair and Sheen allegedly pulling a knife on Mueller in Aspen in 2009.

Mueller was Sheen's third wife, following multi-year unions to both Dona Peele and Denise Richards. He has three other children, daughters Cassandra, Sami and Lola.
