AMES, Iowa — The Iowa and Wisconsin Departments of Transportation are set to advance the Mississippi River Bridge Project in Lansing with a planned implosion of the main bridge section on December 18. This demolition is crucial for the safe progression of the new crossing, which is expected to open in 2027. The implosion is scheduled for around 9:30 a.m., followed by debris removal from the river.
