A full list of North East businesses which have been found to have illegal workers has been put together, with the 15 organisations being fined a total of £1.025million. They have been caught unlawfully employing staff, and have been dealt with as a result.

The government has released a quarterly update covering the period between April 1 and June 30, of this year, including a list of the businesses across the UK who have been fined for employing illegal workers.

Some of the businesses have been fined following an immigration enforcement visit by the Home Office, with employers potentially facing unlimited fines and up to five years in prison if they don't carry out proper identity and right-to-work checks.
