UPDATE: The 38-year-old Rossville man shot and killed while trying to ram into officers in a McDonald's drive-thru on Hwy 58 in July was shot 18 times, an autopsy obtained by Local 3 News says.

The Chattanooga Police Department and Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said they were trying to detain Erick Roberson, who had felony warrants in multiple counties, on an early morning traffic stop on July 22.

Officials said that the suspect, when surrounded, tried to strike officers with the pickup truck he was driving. Approximately two CPD officers and five HCSO deputies shot at Roberson "several" times, their report said.

A trauma doctor pronounced him dead at a local hospital.
